ExcursionsAbout Our Baltic Tour 2026
New for 2026!
The Baltic States, tucked away in northeastern Europe, are like a treasure trove of three countries, each with its own unique culture and mouthwatering cuisine. You won’t want to miss this chance to explore these hidden gems before they disappear forever! And guess what? With summer sunsets lingering late into the evening, you’ll have the perfect backdrop for your adventure.
Our Baltic tour takes you to all three Baltic capitals: Vilnius, Tallinn, and Riga. We’ve got English-speaking guides in each city to make sure you don’t miss a single must-see. But wait, there’s more! Outside the bustling cities, the Baltic States are surprisingly rural, with minimal traffic, making for a relaxing driving experience.
As you journey through each country, you’ll see the remnants of the Soviet occupation that lasted until 1991 when the Baltic States finally broke free and gained their independence through the ‘Singing Revolution’. It was a true miracle!
In the second half of the tour, we’ll take a scenic drive along the Baltic Amber Coast and don’t forget to try some of the local amber. It’s said to have magical properties, so you might want to keep it close!

A picture of traditional Latvian town planning, Cesis has retained all its medieval glory.
Its centre is lauded as one of the best-preserved historic districts in the country, coming complete with wide cobblestone streets, pretty, painted timber facades done out in the classic Baltic style, stuccoed churches (check out the gorgeous St John’s Church and its tombs of the Livonian Order knights) and worn courtyards where once Middle Age markets would have thrived.
The piece de resistance of the town has to be Cesis Castle; a formidable medley of palisades and gatehouses that’s shrouded by forests close to the center.

Tallin the Capital
Travel to Tallin (51 miles) Given the UNESCO tag, the glorious array of historical monuments and the buzzing collection of shops, beer halls and Estonian eateries, it’s hardly surprising that this one’s on the up as one of Europe’s most coveted capitals.
And that’s not even mentioning the bohemian streets of Kalamaja, or the palaces and parks of the Kadriorg district!
The mighty rises of Toompea Hill are what define Estonia’s Capital City; soaring in a curious medley of Orthodox onion domes and medieval bulwarks right in the heart of the town.
Below this sprawls one chocolate box of a walled city, where stony streets and shadowy alleyways open up onto an enthralling market square and curiously-named keeps like ‘Fat Margaret’ soar above the crenulated fortifications.

Day 16 – 19
Parnu
Travel to Parnu (87 miles)

It’s backed by the all-new and indelibly lively Beach Promenade, where babbling fountains abut al fresco restaurants and the courses of a truly excellent bike track.
And in the centre of the town itself, the remnants of an Art Deco boom in the 1920’s add a real dash of class to the resort, spas rise unexpectedly on the street corners, Ruutli Street beats to a night time tune, and charming timber villas dot the outskirts. In short: this one’s every inch Estonia’s summertime capital!

Day 19 - 22
Riga the Capital of Latvia
Travel to Riga (121 miles) The capital of Latvia is the largest city in the three Baltic states and is home to one third of Latvia’s total population.
There’s a youthful vitality to Riga that shines through in its nightlife, trendy dining spots and thriving alternative scene.
Riga has an absorbing history to uncover, as a Medieval Hanseatic League member, and a city that has lived under Swedish, Polish, Russian Empire, Soviet and Nazi rule.
The old centre, Vecrīga, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with labyrinthine streets, Medieval churches and guild halls.
And when Riga outgrew its Medieval walls at the turn of the 20th century there was a spectacular burst of creativity that left the city with more than 800 Art Nouveau buildings, more than any other city in the world.

Thousands of students drive the nightlife, which bubbles up on the tree-shaded boulevard of Laisves Aleja and between the countless craft bars and underground drinkeries of the historic centre, while daytime means seeking out the crumbling bulwarks of the red-brick Kaunas Castle and wandering the enchanting cobblestone alleys of the Old Town – Kaunas’ prettiest district and the home of charming medieval merchant guilds and one gorgeous city hall.

What our customers say
"A very interesting tour passing through the beautiful countryside of Spain and Portugal. We visited some of the 'must see' towns on our travels, where the guides tours included in the trip made us aware of their rich history and interesting facts. <!--more-->Giles and Linda were really good hosts, helpful and easy to get on with and made us fell welcome immediately. For us, as we are in our mid 70's and none too fit, there was rather a lot of walking involved on this tour to get to various venues. But that was probably our fault for not checking before we booked!"Read more
