Itinerary / Route
Holyhead
Day 1 - 2
We will arrive in Holyhead, Wales, for our first night together on this tour.
Later this afternoon, we will gather for our welcome drinks' reception and tour meeting, where you can get to know your fellow travellers, ask any questions, and receive your welcome pack before the adventure truly begins.
There will be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have before we prepare for our crossing the following morning.

Dublin
Day 2 - 5
Today, we travel a short distance to the ferry terminal and enjoy the scenic journey across the Irish Sea together, arriving in Dublin, Ireland.
We arrive in Dublin, the capital and largest city of Ireland, situated at the mouth of the River Liffey, it is a city steeped in history and recognised by UNESCO as a City of Literature, celebrated for its rich literary heritage and iconic writers such as James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, and Oscar Wilde. A vibrant cultural hub, it is famous for its lively pubs, traditional music, and welcoming atmosphere.
The city blends historic landmarks — like Trinity College, home to the Book of Kells, and Dublin Castle — with world-renowned attractions such as the Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery.

Kilkenny
Day 5 - 7
We visit the vibrant medieval city of Kilkenny, where history meets modern charm. The 12th century Kilkenny Castle stands proudly at the heart of the city, while cobbled lanes of the Medieval Mile and hidden alleyways invite exploration.
Kilkenny’s distinctive buildings, crafted from local black limestone - fondly known as ‘Kilkenny marble’ give the city a unique character. With its perfect blend of small-town charm and big-city buzz, Kilkenny offers cosy cafés, lively pubs, artisan shops, and cultural treasures waiting around every corner.
Whether strolling along the river, discovering historic landmarks, or soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, the city is a delightful mix of history, culture, and contemporary life.

Waterford City
Day 7 - 9
Today, we travel south to Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city, strategically situated on the River Suir. Here, we will step back in time to discover the city’s Viking heritage, which dates to 914 A.D., as we explore the narrow streets and ancient town walls of the historic Viking Triangle.
Waterford is world-renowned for the exquisite craftsmanship of the House of Waterford Crystal, where traditional skills meet stunning artistry. The city also takes pride in its culinary specialty — the famous Waterford blaas, a soft, floury white bread roll unique to the region and protected by EU Geographical Indication status.

Dungarvan
Day 9 - 11
A short drive brings us to the charming seaside town of Dungarvan, where we will enjoy the relaxed coastal atmosphere and stunning views of the bay.
Here, we will take a leisurely bike ride along a section of the 40-mile Waterford Greenway, one of Ireland’s most scenic cycling routes, winding through countryside, coast, viaducts, and old railway tunnels.
There will be time to stroll around the picturesque harbour, explore the local shops and cafés, and soak up the welcoming small-town charm that makes Dungarvan so special.

Cork City
Day 11 - 15
The second-largest city in Ireland, Cork is vibrant, full of character, and rich in history, with a well-earned reputation as Ireland’s culinary capital.
The city sits on the River Lee, which splits into two channels to form an island that hosts much of the city centre.
Our visit will also take us to the nearby seaside town of Cobh, a colourful and quirky harbour in County Cork renowned for its maritime heritage. Once the final port of call for the Titanic and a major departure point for Irish emigrants, Cobh is steeped in emotion and history.
The town is instantly recognisable by its rows of brightly painted houses, including the famous “Deck of Cards” houses that cascade charmingly down the hillside.

Killarney
Day 15 - 19
Killarney, a charming town in County Kerry in southwestern Ireland, is renowned for its stunning natural scenery, historic sites, and its role as the gateway to the Ring of Kerry.
Nestled on the shores of Lough Leane, Killarney is surrounded by the breathtaking Killarney National Park, a landscape of tranquil lakes, rugged mountains, ancient woodlands, and cascading waterfalls.
Among its many points of interest are Ross Castle, a 15th-century tower house overlooking the lake, and Muckross House and Abbey — a grand Victorian mansion with beautiful gardens and a nearby 15th-century Franciscan abbey. From here, we will enjoy a traditional “jaunting car” horse-drawn carriage ride through the park’s scenic trails.
The Ring of Kerry is a scenic (111 mile) circular driving route around the Iveragh Peninsula in county Kerry. It is famous for its rugged coastal landscapes, mountains, and historic towns, with major points of interest on this popular tourist attraction.

Doolin
Day 19 - 21
Our journey brings us into Doolin and County Clare, one of Ireland’s most dramatic and atmospheric regions, renowned for its wild coastal scenery and iconic natural landmarks.
The colourful village of Doolin, located on the Wild Atlantic Way, is celebrated for its traditional Irish music, with lively sessions filling the pubs each evening.
Whilst here, we take a visit to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher, soaring over 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean and stretching for nearly nine miles along the rugged coastline. This remarkable site is recognised as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
On a clear day, the views extend to the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, and even the distant mountains of Connemara.
Nearby, you can explore Doolin Cave, home to one of the largest free-hanging stalactites in the world, whilst just inland lies the unique and otherworldly landscape of the Burren — a vast limestone karst region shaped over millions of years.
Its cracked stone pavements, dotted with rare wildflowers, prehistoric tombs, and ancient ring forts, make it unlike anywhere else in Ireland. Beneath its surface lies a hidden world of caves and subterranean rivers, offering a fascinating window into Ireland’s geological past.

Galway
Day 21 - 24
Galway is a vibrant harbour city on Ireland’s west coast. The heart of the city is Eyre Square, an 18th-century gathering place surrounded by shops and traditional pubs.
Winding lanes of the Latin Quarter, with its cafés, boutiques, and art galleries, retain portions of the city’s medieval walls, offering a glimpse into Galway’s history.
A short distance along the coast lies Salthill, a popular seaside resort. Its beach and promenade provide stunning views of Galway Bay and the Aran Islands, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the coastal scenery.

Connemara
Day 24 - 26
Connemara is renowned for its breathtaking and rugged landscape of mountains, bogs, and lakes, as well as its rich Irish culture and the famous Connemara Ponies.
Facing the Atlantic Ocean, its coastline is dotted with beautiful sandy beaches, hidden coves, picturesque bays, and fishing villages.
The Derrygimlagh Bog holds great historical significance as the site of two remarkable events: the transmission of the first transatlantic wireless message and the landing of the first transatlantic flight.

Cong
Day 26 - 28
As we travel through the mountains and lakes of Connemara to our next base in Cong, we will stop to visit the famous and beautiful Benedictine monastery of Kylemore Abbey, set against the dramatic Connemara mountains.
Here, we can explore the magnificent Victorian Walled Gardens and take time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
We arrive in the picturesque village of Cong, nestled between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask, it is best known as the filming location of The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.
The village features a statue and museum dedicated to the film, celebrating its cinematic heritage. From Cong, we will enjoy a boat tour on Lough Corrib, Ireland’s second-largest lake, gliding past its many small wooded islands, ancient monastic ruins, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
